Excellent breakdown of how the holism perspective cuts through the displacement paradox. The claim that mind and body are equally artifacts and componets in intelligence explains why we kept imposing a false hierachy on automation timelines. I've seen this play out in ML teams where folks dunno why their intuitions kept failing on what tasks would automate next. Turns out reductionist framing was the bug all along, not the tech.

Lack of systems thinking and persistence of mechanistic determinism and reductionism in the AI field is actually legit shocking. Even the most basic understanding that Intelligence is by nature non-deterministic is outside the box. The analogy I make is that we are in the AI equivalent of the Steam Engine before Carnot and Thermodynamics. Most are barely even asking the right questions, if at all. Consumers aren't and won't pay for AI until real value is delivered, and that means Intelligent Systems that conform to how Intelligence works, from the interface level down to the core algorithms.
