"Enlightenment" is a broad category of evolutionary phenomena that include mental, physical, intellectual, emotional and neurological developments. It manifests differently according to the person.
The most common is a sort of "flowering" that occurs in the head or the heart or both.
A head centered enlightenment is associated with calmness, expansiveness and openness of mind, objectivity, lack of judgement and prejudice, inspired thought, genius problem-solving, and visionary abilities.
A heart-centered enlightenment is associated with joy, peace, love, expansiveness and openness of heart, receptivity, absence of malice and preference, acts of kindness and generosity, and empathic abilities.
Many times both of these happen together, or one after the other.
A body centered enlightenment is often experienced first in the tan tien area below the navel (though this varies) and spreads to be evenly distributed throughout the body. This is often associated with a conquest of desire, want, hunger and pain. The body becomes self-energized, needs little to no food, is naturally strong, athletic and resilient, immune or highly resistant to disease and aging, needs little sleep and abhors toxins and drugs.
Those are the 3 main categories of "enlightenment", though there are others and they can be mixed in various ways.
The various forms of enlightenment share the quality of tapping into the trans-physical quantum field of energy out of which physical particles are formed. The mental mind and emotional heart and electrical nerve energy of the body becomes an access or organizing center which opens direct communication with the quantum source, transcending the physical energy and information channels and opening new lines of communication and energy exchange. The spine is important in each case, as a central communications channel.
In the past this was rare and only happened through focused concentration over a lifetime, but humanity as a whole is starting to evolve to its next iteration now, so this is happening to more people with less effort and sometimes spontaneously.
It can actually be quite challenging and disruptive, since transformation requires the destruction of the old self, which can be difficult for most people. In many cases where such movements arise spontaneously and without proper preparation, the person will devolve into various forms of madness or addiction as a result. If you think you are experiencing any signs of such evolutionary traits, you should study relevant ancient texts and consult with qualified persons. Be careful of charlatans, however. There are many who pretend in order to exploit those in need of help.
